The MRS3000-G2 is a second generation PMR-test capable, multi-function 150 MHz rigid media certifier. The G2 targets media manufacturers¹ critical need for higher inspection sensitivity and productivity as the data storage industry continues to move to ever higher media densities. It revolutionizes media defect inspection at production-level speeds with advanced signal processing and innovative electronics and software that improve the correlation between certification results and actual hard drive performance.

 

The MRS3000-G2 uses the proven MRS3000 design with the addition of new test channel developed for high linear density test, which provides increased defect sensitivity while maintaining high throughput. The MRS3000-G2 incorporated years of input from many disk manufacturers from around the world. It provides customers with higher test frequencies and improved mechanics for faster carriage motion and accurate and repeatable head-loading.
